Cosmetic Treatments in Fishers, IN

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are custom-made, thin shells that are attached to the fronts of your existing teeth. Made of tooth-colored porcelain, they correct spaces between the teeth, chipped or worn teeth, permanently stained teeth, or teeth that are poorly shaped. We remove some of the enamel from the front and side of your tooth to make room for the veneer. Then an impression is made, which is sent to our dental lab for manufacture. When the veneers are ready, Dr. Clauss places them on your teeth to check the size and fit. Then your teeth are cleaned and the veneers are bonded to your teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Philips Zoom! in-office bleaching is offered in our Fishers dental office. Zoom is the number-one-requested whitening treatment. While results can vary from patient to patient, you can get up to eight shades whiter after just one treatment! During the procedure we put a whitening solution on your teeth and use a special light to make it work. It is quick, painless and will give you extraordinary results.

An at-home bleaching kit comes is a gel that is placed in a tray that fits inside your mouth and is more effective than over-the-counter whitening kits. If you are going to use any at-home whitening, you should have your teeth cleaned by a member of our Fishers hygiene team before whitening.

Whitening toothpastes can help remove stains on the surface of your teeth but they will not change the color of your teeth. Always look for the ADA seal when considering whitening toothpaste.

Dentures

If you have lost many of your natural teeth, complete dentures may be the only solution available to you. Dentures may be made of porcelain or plastic. Immediate dentures are inserted immediately after the natural teeth are removed. To make immediate placement possible, we take measurements and a mold of your jaws during a preliminary visit. The advantage is that you do not have to be without teeth during the healing period. Immediate dentures may require relining when the gums shrink.

Dental Implants

Missing a tooth? Dental implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth. Missing teeth can lead to other problems such as causing an unbalanced bite, increased biting stress on other teeth, bone recession in the area of the missing tooth, and loss of your smile. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root, made of titanium, which is surgically placed in the bone beneath your gum. The gum is allowed to grow around the implant and then a replacement tooth is attached to the post. Implants mimic your natural teeth and are considered permanent. They should last a lifetime as long as you have healthy gums and bone to support the implant. You will end up with improved speech, improved overall self-image, and the ability to eat a wide variety of foods.

Invisalign

Straightening your teeth not only will give you a better smile but will give you a better quality of life. There are many options for teeth straightening, but none offers the comfort level, convenience, and confidence of Invisalign.

As an adult, you probably have wanted straight teeth most of your life but metal or ceramic braces are not an acceptable choice for you. Invisalign removable aligners are made of virtually invisible plastic and fit over your existing teeth. Most people won’t even know you are having your teeth straightened. There are no brackets or wires and no food restrictions. The aligners are custom-made and changed every two weeks in order to gradually move your teeth into the proper position. While you are under treatment, you may remove your aligners for normal brushing and flossing but they should be worn a minimum of 20-22 hours a day. For most adults, the treatment lasts about a year.

Invisalign is also a great alternative for teens, whose self-image can be negatively affected by a mouthful of metal braces. Invisalign won’t interfere with their social or sports activities and we provide up to six free replacement aligners if they are lost on broken!

Tooth Bonding

If you have teeth that are chipped, broken, cracked, or stained, bonding may be a good solution for you. In this procedure, Dr. Clauss attaches tooth-colored material, made of porcelain or composite resin, directly to the tooth surface. Fusing it to the enamel and contouring it to mimic your other teeth, creates a strong structure that looks and acts much like your own tooth.

Crowns & Bridges

A crown can be used to cover or “cap” a damaged or discolored tooth, protect a weakened tooth from fracturing, replacing a filling when there is not enough tooth left to allow for a new filling, or for attaching a bridge. Crowns can be made of many materials including porcelain, ceramic, gold and metal alloys, and acrylic.

A bridge may be used to fill the space when you are missing teeth. Bridges are cemented to the remaining teeth or to implants surrounding the empty space and then a replacement tooth is attached to the crowns.

Periodontal Plastic Surgery

Periodontal plastic surgery, or gum contouring, is used to correct irregularities in the gums, such as gums that are too long and cover too much of the tooth ( a “gummy” smile). Dr. Clauss performs gum contouring with the painless precision of a soft tissue laser.
